means Bentley’s flagship model has gone from four forward speeds to twice
that number in less than a decade.
Now, I've already mentioned that this Bentley is a big car, but when you
plant the accelerator pedal into that deep Wilton carpet, something
remarkable happens. Despite its bulk our Mulsanne made a 5.1 second
sprint to 60mph and cracked 100mph in just 5.3. So should you find yourself
alongside, say a Mitsubishi Evo X at the lights, you can wave a relaxed
goodbye as it disappears in your (very elegant), rear-view mirror.
To sum up, this brand new, yet decidedly well-bredMulsanne has rewritten
the rule book and set the current benchmark for the true luxury car. I, for
one, feel rather reassured that one of the greatest names in motoring is back
at the top.
Thank you for that, Bentley.
