Arabian flavour. It’s beautiful – but you would be hard-pressed to get your
hands on what you see here. The works come from the private collection of
His Highness Sheikh Suroor binMohammed Al Nahyan, the patron of the
project. Now that’s what we call a personal touch...
When we got to our room, we continued to be bowled over by the sheer
exquisiteness of the surroundings. We were staying in one of the hotel’s
Grand Deluxe rooms – and it had been fitted throughout with classy
contemporary décor and furnishings. There was an amazingly comfortable
king size bed, a plush living area with a large working desk and a 42 inch
HD-LED TV, and a spacious and opulent en-suite bathroom with twin
vanities. The walk-in shower was just astonishing – intricately finished with
mosaic tiles in a really soothing white and gold design. Clearly, no detail had
been overlooked in the way the roomwas equipped. And the complimentary
services, too, were excellent. They included wireless and broadband internet,
a high-end hot drinks machine, a Media Hub with a docking station for
iPods and MP3 players, and a radio – the sound quality was outstanding.
Perhaps the best thing about the room, though, was its size. At 60 square
metres (645 square feet) it really gave us enough space to make the most of
our exquisite surroundings, and enjoy the rich and roomy lifestyle that we
had been hoping for. It was the perfect place to enjoy a romantic room-
service dinner. And with the iPod docking station, we could also dance the
night away! Again, the room’s size was ideal for stretching and relaxing
during a yoga workout – of course, in modern luxury and comfort. The
views from our window, looking out over the Abu Dhabi coastline, can only
be described as spectacular. And we also loved the way the room had been
decorated with art installations featuring scenes from Abu Dhabi life in the
