The opening of Hublot’s second boutique in
the UAE capital reinforces the brand’s superb
reputation and popularity among ‘luxuristas’.
W
ith Abu Dhabi buzzing around the
F1 period, invitations to parties and
events were coming from all
directions. One invitation that really caught
our attention was the grand opening of
Hublot’s second boutique in Abu Dhabi.
As Hublot is the Official Watch of Formula
One, it made perfect sense that the event was
held on the same weekend as the F1 Etihad
Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It was
attended by many of the VIPs who were in
town, including, of course, Jean-Claude Biver,
the charming Chairman of Hublot.
The opening on 3rd November 2012 in
Marina Mall was a celebration not only of Abu
Dhabi’s second Hublot boutique, but also of
the 56thHublot boutique worldwide – and the
brand shows no signs of slowing down. In fact,
the Swiss luxury watch maker can currently
boast a boutique opening almost every month,
in some of the most prestigious locations in the
world.
Jean-Claude Biver (pictured standing
alongside the Seddiqi family, long-standing
partners and friends of the brand in the UAE),
began the day with a traditional ribbon-cutting
ceremony, which officially opened the
fabulous boutique-lounge, which spans over
50
square metres.
Abdul Hamied Seddiqi, Vice-Chairman,
Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and Chairman of the
Board of Directors at Al Manara International
Jewellery, told Simply Abu Dhabi:
"
It’s a really exciting time to be opening a new
Hublot boutique in Marina Mall, especially
soon after our recent acquisition of Al Manara
International Jewellery in partnership with
HAMG, and more so given the presence of
such immense local demand for what the
Hublot brand offers.”
Jean-Claude Biver of Hublot added: “Abu
Dhabi is home to a large number of major
watch collectors. They fully appreciate the
expertise of the Swiss watch making art,
expressed through our watch collections. I
wish our teams every success and the best of
luck, and would be delighted to come and visit
them often."
From the wall of screens that immediately
immerses the visitor into the opulent world of
Hublot, to the elegant floor with leather tiles
created by a master craftsman (now one of the
signatures of the Hublot boutiques), all aspects
are designed to perfectly reflect the style that
Hublot holds so dearly. The brand refers to it
as The Art of Fusion. It’s the fusion of
materials, such as natural buckskin and ebony,
whic creates a warm yet hushed sanctuary
within the bustling Marina Mall.
And what better way to end such a luxurious
event than for VIPs, friends of the brand,
clients and media to head for dinner at the
world famous Cipriani – one of the most
sought-after tables in the city, perfectly
positioned next to the Yas Marina Circuit and
right by all the F1 action!
