2 4 7 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I I f there has ever been a concept car that truly fired the imagination and passion of lovers of both automotive performance and styling, it has to be the celebration of both worlds that is the Ferrari Sergio. Making its first appearance at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013, the car was the living embodiment of the perfect partnership of Ferrari performance and Pininfarina flair. A car so perfectly proportioned and styled that it could only be named after the late and legendary Sergio Pininfarina. Since that initial showing, the Sergio became one of the most eagerly anticipated and desired Ferraris ever. Reports that the car would finally become a road-going reality first circulated in September 2014; just over a month later came the news that Ferrari and Pininfarina were actually in the process of building a strictly limited production run of this fabulous creation. Now the wait is over and the dreams of a very select few are coming true, with the SBHRoyal Auto Gallery at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi already taking delivery of the very first Sergio. Just six production versions of this decidedly superior supercar will ever exist, each graced with a price tag of around $3 million. Now, to some, that may seem like a somewhat excessive figure, but for the six individuals personally invited by Ferrari to enjoy the privilege of owning this super-exclusive, strictly limited-edition piece of motoring history, spending $3 million on a truly bespoke supercar can be considered money well spent. Before you rush to the telephone to place your order, I’m afraid I have some bad news for you: all six Sergios are already spoken for and have already been individually customised at Ferrari’s Maranello workshop for their owners. That’s right. After placing their $3 million order, each buyer then took their choice from a wide variety of colours, materials and finishes to make the car uniquely their own. And what a tough job that must have been. Unarguably beautiful, the Sergio roadster is based on the already stunning 458 Spider and was created, in Ferrari’s own words, “to celebrate the spirit and core values of the
