Simply Abu Dhabi XX

F or autumn-winter 2015/2016, Bottega Veneta presents a men’s collection inspired by the creative life. Put together in unexpected and at times nonchalant combinations, the looks reveal the beauty of individualistic dressing. Creative director Tomas Maier delivered a palette dominated by dark shades, including dark sergeant, Kelly green, dark and Atlantic blue, various hues of dark grey and russet red. These block colours are offset by camel, luteous yellow, persimmon orange, byzantine purple and mallow pink. This collection was a homage to the tailored suit and its modern permutations, and it was all about being precise and proper in an urban world through sharp silhouettes and functional design. This accounted for the refined shapes, which were only softened up towards the end through the use of layered scarves around the neck. “It is a serious moment, a time when work feels like a clear priority. We wanted to explore the iconic men’s suit and the formality and competence that fine tailoring conveys,” explained Maier. 1 8 6 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I M E N ’ S A U T U M N - W I N T E R 2 0 1 5 / 2 0 1 6 C O L L E C T I O N BOTTEGA VENETA
