174 SIMPLY ABU DHABI //47 FROM WALLY The Wally//47 is a spacious sports cruiser that blends practicality with indulgence and that follows the inspirational styling of the world famous Wally//118: true to Wally’s minimalist style and focus on performance. Wally//47 has been designed, engineered and hand built to provide a luxurious day boat experience, with fantastic space and accommodation including two cabins and a comfortable bathroom. Alternatively, the Wally//47 can be specified with a large lounge and galley area. Either way, these areas are flooded with natural light and are simple and stylish in design. The interior is finished in a combination of carbon fibre surfaces, natural teak and lacquered cabinetry. On deck there is a large sheltered area for navigation / steering, housing all of the latest marine technology to help you enjoy a day on the sea. The steering position is placed in the centre of the boat for easy handling and manoeuvring, with the captain sat on one of two ergonomic, carbon fibre seats. The helm controls allow single-handed operation of the Wally//47. At the heart of these is the joystick control system for the water jet propulsions system. This handles thrust vectoring in ‘docking’ and ‘transit’ modes. Immediately behind the control console is the social area, with a table and seating for six to eight guests. This opens up to the rear, allowing the outside in and adding to the sense of space and luxury. The aft deck is given over to a large sunbathing area, perfect for relaxing after climbing aboard post-swim via the hydraulically operated swim ladder. Throughout the deck area, gorgeous, non-slip teak provides safety and comfort underfoot. Power is provided by two Yanmar diesel engines with a total output of 880hp, enough to push the Wally//47 upwards of 40 knots. The vast, 2,000-litre fuel tank gives a range of 500 nautical miles. With Wally’s characteristic vertical bow and hull design the Wally//47 provides both comfort and handling dynamics making it a joy to drive in even the choppiest conditions.
