With their new makeup collection, now is the time to take flight and travel with the birds of paradise. This creature has inspired a collection that displays multicolour hues and sparkling textures, which will hypnotise the senses. The warmer months that heat up this season also bronze up our skin. These products from Dior will allow our faces to gleam and our features to flutter with a vast array of rainbow brights. Dior’s Makeup Designer, Violette has created two capsule collections to portray this exotic mood in a choice of ways. ‘Wild Feather’ is a tanned look with smokey dark green and blue eyes. Lips are kept muted with a coral tone on the cheeks. For this look, Dior has designed a ‘Nude Tan BB Cream’ with a built in bronzing finish. Instantly boosting the skin tone, this light cream creates a healthy sun-kissed glow whilst still being protective by containing SPF15 and 3-tea antioxidants. A weightless feel on the face, the super natural finish it imparts is really comfortable, even in the heat of the day. ‘Glowy Exotic’ as the name suggests is a bold, tropical look. Powdered skin this time but with the cheeks in a pinkier flush. Eyes are designed to be acid-coloured with a tactile finish using blues and golds. There is slightly more colour on the lips to tie in with the paradise theme. The skin for this look is still using the warm tones of bronze but with a slightly more polished finish. ‘Diorskin Nude Tan’ is a powder compact, available in 6 shades so all skin tones can benefit from this complexion enhancer. It even comes with a mini kabuki brush for professional yet transportable application. A new must-have in the collection is the ‘Nude Tan Paradise Duo’. This is a bronzer and blusher in one handy and luxurious compact. Available in two colour-ways (Rose or Coral), the bronzer will warm up the complexion and give it a sun-kissed luminosity, whilst the other will breathe life into the cheeks with a pop of healthy colour. Dior’s legendary eyeshadows have been given the injection of luminous nature. The iconic ‘5 Couleurs’ palette now comes in ‘Blue Lagoon’ and ‘Peacock’; a combination of hot, deep blues complemented with pastel limey greens. There are two new eyeshadow mono’s in ‘Parati’ or ‘Feather’; an intense blue indigo and petrol blue shot through with gold for added texture. Other accessories for the eyes include waterproof liners to withstand the humid temperatures and eye glosses to infuse some glittering shine to the lids. As for the lips, I’m excited to try the new ‘Jelly Lip Pen’. Chunky soft pencils ease the application and the glossy summery shades will stain your lips with a fruity colour. Hot pigments that look like a tint and feel so light, it’s as if you’re wearing a lip balm. Other lip products include the ‘LipMaximizer’ in a new apricot hue. Treat your lips to this shine booster and your lips will be conditioned at the same time. Then the already popular ‘Addict Lipstick’ has four new shades to jump-start the holiday season. To top off the complete look, our nails can do some flirting with colour too. ‘Bird of Paradise’ nail lacquer duo’s come in two new options; metallic green and mint (‘Samba’) or petrol blue and fuchsia (‘Bahia’) to add some tactile vibrancy to your hands and feet.
