2 2 0 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I Rixos,The Palm, Dubai O ne of the more recent openings from the world-recognised luxury resort chain Rixos, the new Palm Dubai hotel maintains the high standards which the brand, and the Chairman of Rixos, Fettah Tamince, demand. Located at the far end of the East crescent on the world-famous Palm Jumeirah Islands, Rixos The PalmDubai is a modern 5-star hotel that joins the upper ranks of the deluxe offerings in the UAE. Entering the lobby the first striking thing is the scale and how the light infuses the space. The contemporary choice of interior styling works well and creates a very airy and calming ambience. After a very friendly check-in experience I was shown to my Premium Room. As soon as I walked in I was struck by the spectacular view of the Palm. The room featured both a bedroomwith a king sized bed and also a lounge area that was separated by a partition. And the living space continued still, with a spacious balcony affording a serene view of the Gulf waters and the length of the Palm. It’s an ideal space to relax and perfect for both leisure visitors and business travellers. The decoration is homely, whilst still feeling sophisticated and on trend, something like a smart executive apartment – which is not an easy effect to achieve. The living area includes an executive writing desk, comfy chair, a 40-inch plasma screen television and DVD player. The sparklingly clean marble bathroom features a deep soaking tub and a separate glass- enclosed shower. After freshening up I decided to explore and take a tour around the hotel grounds. It’s a big plot and a huge building, but then it does have 231 large-sized rooms and 42 suites. The pool area is very nicely constructed, with a great pool overlooking the Dubai Skyline and the Arabian Gulf. The outdoor signature space, White X Beach & Lounge, is nestled on a green covered area stretch of beach and would be a great spot to relax by day and have a light meal from the lunch menu or to dress up for and enjoy a vibrant night out as the White X Bar regularly hosts live entertainment with guest international DJs and seasonal events.
