The main course was a delicately flavoured sea bass fillet that just about left room for some traditional baklava for dessert. It was a superb meal that was well served in stylish surroundings. It was late afternoon by now and I considered taking advantage of one of the excursions that the hotel can arrange. The options range from extreme activities such as skydiving or a desert safari through to a Dubai or Abu Dhabi city tour. There is also a complimentary shuttle bus service to the shopping malls available to guests, plus water taxis for selected places, but in the end I liked my Premium room so much I decided to head back there and relax, enjoying the sun set from the peaceful haven of my balcony. To round off a very comfortable stay at the hotel I visited the A La Turca restaurant and enjoyed a splendidly authentic Turkish meal together with exotic musical entertainment and a soothing shisha. This hotel is barely one year old, but with such amazing views, great service and excellent cuisine – and just 47 kilometres from Dubai International Airport and 91 kilometres from Abu Dhabi International Airport – it is sure to become a favourite for visitors to the UAE.
