It was designed in 1931 at the request of British polo players in India who were tired of having their watches shattered during games. The famous reversible case was invented to protect the dial and the glass from possible shocks. The ties between the legendary swivelling case and polo have remained ingrained in the very fibres of the Reverso ever since and it’s therefore entirely fitting that Jaeger- LeCoultre is the Official Timekeeper of British Polo Day. Though British Polo Day is steeped in glamour and showcases amazing athleticism from both riders and horses, there is another side to the event. The aim of the day is to continue the tradition of playing high quality polo against friends in host countries, while also acting as a platform for British businesses in emerging markets. It is a bona fide occasion where you really can mix business with pleasure. It was also part of a weekend of fundraising that saw donations of over $200,000 for the British military charity, Help for Heroes. In addition, over $15,000 was raised for theWomen andHealth Alliance Ghantoot Polo Team and the British Exiles line up before the event begins The Marchioness of Milford-Haven and His Highness Sheikh Shaqboot bin Nahyan al Nahyan
