W ay back in the 1700s, when Abraham- Louis Breguet was establishing the brand that would grow to be an icon in the city of Paris, his clients were both men and women, among them some of the leading personalities of the age, veritable 18th century celebrities. Since this era, Breguet has been fully aware of women’s interest in watches and haute horlogerie, and the company remains ever dedicated to designing watches that are especially suited to women. As a result of this approach, the brand introduced the 8827 a few years ago, a Marine Chronograph for women that was both elegant and functional in the extreme. This year Breguet unveils a new version of this watch updated in a 34.6mm steel case that is water resistant to 5 bar or 50 metres. The new version has a distinctly feminine dial in white mother-of- pearl and, like its predecessors, its beauty is combined with all the functions of a chronograph, with the hours and minutes in the centre, small seconds and a date aperture at 6 o'clock. At the heart of this sophisticated watch is a calibre 550, a self-winding movement with a power reserve of 45 hours. This ideal gift comes mounted on a turquoise leather strap that is exclusive to the model or a new metal bracelet. On either strap it is sure to be an eloquent addition to any wrist.
