Elsewhere you have loose, long tunics with wide horizontal stripes worn loose over delicious bags. Prints and fabrics are bold and clashing. Skater skirts layer up over cropped and flared trousers. Shoes remain chunky this season as last, lightened up with frivolous butterflies and woodland animals. It looks cosy and autumnal, ready for a kick through the leaves and a pot of tea. It wouldn’t be Mulberry without bags, so every look introduced at the catwalk show (40 in total) were accessorised with a heritage bag. The Suffolk, Willow and Bayswater took centre stage. We particularly love the slouch, understated Bayswater. Remember the opening gambit of Mulberry in the Seventies? The dog collar? It’s back. The ultimate accessory this season is a collar in black veg tan. Mulberry has gone back to its roots, and it very much works for us.
