From the moment we arrived, we knew this would be a special evening. As we were warmly greeted at the door, our host told us that tables at both the outdoor terrace and inside the palazzo-style dining roomhad been prepared for us, and we were welcome to choose either. While the warm Tuscan colours of the dining room appealed greatly, and we noted with interest the communal chef’s table, where a large group was sharing a meal in the Italian tradition, the evening’s fine weather led us to choose dining al fresco in the fading light.
