1 1 7 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I A brace of supremely exclusive limited edition pieces showcase the exquisite technique of paillonné enamelling, perfected by the artist craftsmen of Jaquet Droz. Paillonné enamelling is an elegant fusion of azure and gold, a design of immeasurable delicacy born of the highest standards of work. The Jaquet Droz craftsmenhave excelled in this revered technique since the 18th century. To this day they continue to create dialswith the same outstanding, meticulous care using the Grand Feu enamelling process. Constituting several firings at extremely high temperatures, only the most highly trained eye can detect when the colour is perfectly consistent and when the motif, placed with surgical precision, has set correctly under the translucent enamel fondant. The three exquisite newmodels are a 39mmPetiteHeureMinute, a 50mm pocket watch and a recently added 43mmGrande Seconde. They pay tribute to an art that has endured for centuries. Each timepiece sees the reinvention of amotif that creates interplay with circular forms to evoke the floral theme favoured by Jaquet Droz. The blued steel hands echo the ultramarine dial, whilst the light in the red-gold case, on a blue or black alligator leather strap, is radiant and glows with notable delicacy. Each of the three models is a limited edition of just eight. Not only are they a profound example of the expertise found in the Jaquet Droz artisan workshops, they also offer tangible evidence that true beauty created by the human hand can transcend time.
