1 2 2 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I T he newly released RM 11- 02 represents a subtle development of this continually popular Richard Mille model that has been a firm favourite with discerning horologists since its inceptionmore than seven years ago. This automatic calibre of the RM11- 02 is a remarkable technical evolution of the RM 011, with the original calibre RMAC1 superseded by the calibre RMAC2 with added superior features. In addition to the functions of the Flyback chronograph, annual calendar with oversized date, sixty-minute countdown timer and twenty-four hour totaliser, the RM 11-02 adds a UTC feature for the indication of a second time zone with a Super- LumiNova filled hand. The movement is fitted with two winding barrels and an automatic winding rotor with variable geometry supplying in the region of fifty hours of power reserve. This new timepiece is easily recognisable by the additional pusher at 9 o’clock, used for setting the second time zone. This specially shaped and engraved pusher, as well as those placed at 2 and 5 o’clock for the chronograph start/stop and reset functions, is very much in step with the highly recognisable design cues of the RM 011 collection, with its graceful lines inspired by the aerodynamic surfaces of performance racing cars. Matching these thematic cues, Richard Mille has also designed a very precisely machined crown in grade 5 titanium, evoking a clutch mechanism, surroundedwith an Alcryn collar for excellent tactile contact and visual stimulation.
