Not to be missed, however, is one of the world’s most endearing cuisines – Italian. With its balance of flavours, and reliance on fresh produce, Italian cuisine has always had the family at heart, ensuring that each dish prepared is infused with an intense passion to simply give joy. With that tantalising thought in mind, I arrived at the sleek, modern restaurant, and took in the elegant but bustling atmosphere as my dining companion and I were promptly and graciously led to our table. BiCE is situated on the pool level of Jumeirah Etihad Towers on the Corniche, and offers guests the option of dining al fresco on the patio or inside the chic but warmly inviting dining room. As it was a humid evening, we opted for the latter and enjoyed an iced tea while we perused the appetising selections on offer. BiCE epitomises the familial warmth of Italian cuisine, celebrating it with a sense of style best described as ‘La Bella Vita Milanese’, in homage to the city of BiCE’s roots and ancestral home inMilan – all of which was very much in evidence on the menu.
