A protective figure, a token of love and a promise of happiness, it has been part of the Maison’s bestiary for a long time; to be precise, since 1888, when Frederic Boucheron offered his wife a necklace in the shape of a serpent to celebrate their crystal wedding anniversary. From that point on, the Boucheron serpent has been embodying the spirit of bohemian femininity since the creation of the collection in 1968: its head, represented by a diamond-filled drop and crowned with gold beads, multiplies the reflections from the snow-set diamonds. And its body, chiselled by the Hands of Light and enhanced by the most beautiful of polishes, gives rise to tremendous brilliance as it coils around the wearer’s finger, neck and ears. The pattern of the twisted chain marks the line of the most contemporary of styles, while remaining faithful to its precious spirit. Relaunched in 2013, the Serpent Bohème collection has become such a success that it has grown this year to include some irresistible new pieces. The dainty rings in yellow or white gold are so easy to wear that you can stack them on top of each other on each finger. In Toi et Moi, with several rings worn together on the index or other fingers, there is a play of carefree elegance between the diamond-pavé drops and their gold beads. Sinuous chains set with pavé diamonds wrap around the neck: one delicately set for an elegant serpent, the other more casual with its openwork detail. Whether you are looking more for glamour or for playfulness, the free spirit of the Serpent Bohème floats above the collection, bestowing on it a delightfully feminine quality. Serpent Bohème goes beyond time and generations. It is a talisman, a signature and a sign of recognition for Boucheron women of all generations.
