To celebrate their reign of 63 years in the industry, we have been treated to a new covetable collection. The Ajmal Signature ‘W’ Series is their way of thanking customers for remaining loyal, whilst also commemorating their position in an ever-changing market. This is a collection of three bespoke woody fragrances, each to be enjoyed separately or embellished by layering them together. Santal Wood, Hatkora Wood and Amber Wood ensure that anyone with a taste for sophisticated luxury will be indulged. This is a collection that has been created with extensive research and meticulous product development by the incredible team at the Ajmal perfume house. The scent of wood and all its facets is one that can be divided and enhanced in numerous complementary ways. Needless to say, the highest quality ingredients have been sourced and refined – with no expense spared – to ensure this collection is of the highest calibre. The classic amber, hatkora lemon and unmistakable sandalwood scents are designed to flatter and enhance our fragrance wardrobes. General Manager of Ajmal Perfumes, Abdulla Ajmal, has prepared a statement to announce and celebrate the ‘W’ Series: “We proudly present the ‘W’ Series to all Ajmal patrons. Keeping with the time and ever-evolving needs of our consumers, we have launched this signature collection. The perfumes are a result of using the highest quality raw materials used to develop modern fragrances. Our signature collection is also a testament to our constant research and innovation to provide the finest and the most desirable fragrances to our customers.” Firstly, then, to experience the Amber Wood is to gratify our deep emotions. Rich and extensive, it’s a scent that is passionate and bewitching with multiple layers to respect its heady nature. Top notes of fruits and spices like apple, white pepper, lavender and cardamom instil a light and captivating personality. The woody notes of orris and cedarwood are then grounded by the base notes of amber and patchouli. There seem to be so many differing elements, yet somehow they infuse themselves into perfect harmony. For those who prefer a more citrusy aroma, the Hatkora Wood is embedded with a centrepiece of wild zesty fruits, in particular the peel, where the sharp yet playful oils emerge. Hatkora lemons were derived fromAssam, Mizoram andManipur, thus increasing their zingy presence. Softened by peach, the scent of the fruity lemons is able to linger and flatter the wearer. At the heart, we can find spicy floral arrangements of ginger, saffron, rose and lavender, which offsets the citrus perfectly. At the base, deep emotions can be awakened by amber, agarwood, sandalwood, musk and ambergris, together warming the fragrance to its perfect expression. Last but by no means least, we are offered another pleasure in the trio with Santal Wood. As you may have guessed, sandalwood is the dominant feature here, taking the scent to an uplifting yet familiar comfort. Derived from the Western Ghats of India, the sandalwood oil is of the utmost standard. With top notes of more spicy florals in the form of cumin, cardamom and marigold, the sandalwood is then dancing with an array of strong competitors. Heart notes of jasmine, rose, ginger and cedarwood are the perfect accessories to whatever the occasion presents. Agarwood is then anchored at the base, along with patchouli, to take your evening on a memorable journey. Each encased in its own slick black bottle, the element setting them apart is the beautifully coloured stone which crowns them in their glory. A gold plaque on the front of each perfume proudly states the fragrance, and it is not until you spritz them that can you really enjoy their full potential.
