Retiring to the luxurious room feeling full and satisfied, it was a delight to discover that the guest rooms continue the simple, stylish, luxury feel without becoming overly fussy or staged. Floor-to-ceiling wardrobes tie in with hardwood floors in a mixture of traditional fittings that speaks to the impeccable quality of the establishment’s architectural heritage. But our expectations were also surpassed by the everyday amenities you would expect from a hotel of this nature, even down to the luxury slippers and complimentary hot water bottles provided at turn down. The signature feature of the guests rooms has to be the wood-panelled walls, which give a truly warm and organic feel to the space, as do the muted neutral palette of the drapes, bathroom tiles, and soft furnishings – including faux-fur bed throws.
