Bodino counts diamonds, emeralds, coloured sapphires, rubies, tanzanite, pearls, red spinels and tourmalines amongst his favourite raw materials, in addition to several others. During the Biennale des Antiquaires, Bodino unveiled a collection of new Capi d’Opera, precious one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces that evoke an exclusive form of ancient art. Bodino chose Villa Mozart in Milan as his home, restoring this Art Deco landmark site from the Thirties to unveil its hidden beauty with enigmatic charm and clean-lined discretion. It’s a fitting analogy given that Bodino’s own ambition to launch a jewellery house was only realised fairly recently. It was certainly a brave move, but those who worked closest with the somewhat-newly-established jewellery designer during his time at Richemont affirm that they always knew Bodino would find success in launching a new high-jewellery Maison. “Giampiero’s project opens a new chapter, since art and craftsmanship urgently call for fresh expressive modes,” says Johann Rupert, chairman of the Richemont Group. “And this is a quest Giampiero is ready to answer.
