3 6 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I unfathomable scale. And this is something that, no matter how many times you see and experience, remains almost unbelievable. To give you some sense of just how big this sprawling red giant is, consider for a moment the huge Ferrari logo that adorns the roof of the enormous, multi-limbed central structure of the theme park. It is actually a staggering sixty-five metres in length – that’s the equivalent of more than fourteen Formula One cars parked end to end! And the area of just the logo itself covers three thousand square metres – that’s the equivalent size of seven NBA basketball courts. Ferrari World is, make no mistake, a truly epic and elegantly lavish theme park that delivers awe and wonder in all aspects of its size, scale and excitement-generating ability. Of course, the first thing that we wanted to do was to conquer the incredible, utterly remarkable Formula Rossa rollercoaster – the world’s fastest, and no doubt one of the most invigorating and adrenalin-soaked high points of our visit. So it was that, with thrilling trepidation and maybe just a little nerves, we soon found ourselves approaching the front of the queue to take our place on the ride. The speed at which the Formula Rossa is capable of propelling you is almost literally breathtaking; you’re certainly left with no doubt that it must indeed be the world’s fastest rollercoaster. It absolutely feels that way, as the ride effortlessly launches you from 0- 100km in only 2.9 seconds. The feeling is almost indescribable: relentless power and smooth acceleration that leaves you aghast, almost without time to think – even if you’ve been blown away before by this incredible rollercoaster, we feel certain you would feel all the same adrenalin, shock and exhilarating excitement all over again on a return visit. The Formula Rossa is guaranteed to take your breath away and put a very wide smile on your face every single time. It really is something to be experienced and conquered; the crowds of excited, thrilled customers are testament to this. But it isn’t all about the Formula Rossa. There are actually so many things to get involved with at Ferrari World that the list is almost endless. From there, we headed straight for the state-of-the-art Scuderia Challenge race simulators, which launch you into a virtual world of fearlessly lapping circuits at top speeds in the world famous Ferrari Formula One cars. Despite the virtual aspect of the simulators – especially when directly compared to the real life speed of the Formula Rossa – the experience is genuinely enthralling and extremely realistic.
