Prince Harry, former England CaptainMalcolmBorwick, and the rest of the Sentebale Huntsman side took the field to face off against the St. Regis Team, including Mohammed Al Habtoor from the Al Habtoor team, Her Royal Highness Sheikha Maitha bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (HRH Sheikha Maitha Al Maktoum), who is also a world-class karate and taekwondo athlete, and St. Regis team captain Nacho Figueras. The Huntsman team ultimately took home the trophy, which was presented by English actress and former model Sienna Guillory, with a victory of 5-4. Prince Harry was named Most Valuable Player, having scored a goal for his team. After this exhilarating exhibition of sportsmanship, a fabulous dinner was held for guests of the event. Here we were once again thoroughly impressed by the Ghantoot Polo & Racing Club’s surroundings, as we took our seats in a beautifully appointed dining space. Set under a cool white tent, it was the essence of understated elegance, minimally decorated with candlelight and beautiful white floral arrangements. And, as we learned from speeches given by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso, it was all for such a truly inspiring cause. To give our readers some background, the Sentebale Polo Cup was Prince Harry’s brainchild back in 2010, when His Royal Highness wanted to create an event to raise awareness of his charity Sentebale and its vital work with some of the most vulnerable children in Lesotho. Now, four years later, this annual event tours the world, being hosted in different countries, and since its beginning has raised a significant amount of funding for a cause in critical need of help. Hearing both of the Princes speak passionately about the children of Lesotho was a wonderful opportunity for us to learn more about this worthwhile organisation.
