9 7 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I A one-of-a-kind watch that integrates rare components in an artistic and technological tour de force, the H. Moser & Cie Venturer Tourbillon Dual Time represents some innovative departures for the manufacture. The automatic in-house calibre HMC 802 uses the first tourbillon ever developed by H. Moser &Cie. This tourbillon is like no other thanks to two ingenious features invented by the manufacture. Firstly, the state-of-the-art Straumann Double Hairspring® further improves the accuracy and isochronism of the new in-house manufacture movement. Secondly, the Moser Interchangeable Tourbillon Module facilitates servicing with a unique construction. The result: the perfect combination of elegance and function. The design was inspired by characteristics of both traditional pocket watches and timepieces from the 1920s Bauhaus era, with their clean lines, minimalist décor and simple fonts, and features a convex crystal popularly seen in watches of the 1960s. The choice of features and functions is inspired by founder Heinrich Moser’s career in St. Petersburg, Russia, where as a young man he created complicated pocket watches for the Imperial Court. Since then, H. Moser &Cie has been known for combining pure streamlined aesthetics with practical considerations; each piece is a work of art in its own right yet remains incredibly functional and easy to wear. The Venturer dual-time tourbillon watch is no exception: presented in a polished three piece red or white gold case, and measuring 41.5 by 14.3 mm, it’s an unusual combination of sleek design with the practicality of a tourbillon function. One of the unique design features is the elegant curved dial that is cambered towards the edge, following the curve of the sapphire glass. Even the swallow- shaped hour, minute and second time zone hands are curved to follow the profile. The dial comes in three variations: a graphite grey ardoise, a smokey red-gold, or silvery argenté finish — all with a beautiful sunburst pattern. Moreover, the dial has two layers with unique finishing on each layer, along with chamfered and polished edges to highlight the two levels. The one-minute tourbillon is suspended at 6 o’clock via the skeletonised tourbillon bridge and is the centrepiece of the in-house HMC 802 automatic calibre. The movement beats at 3Hz, has a bi-directional pawl winding system, solid 18k red gold rotor engraved with the H. Moser &Cie hallmark, Moser teeth for all wheels and pinions, an Original Straumann Double Hairspring, and a power reserve of 72 hours. In addition to being able to look into the movement through the tourbillon aperture on the dial side, the see- through caseback also affords an enticing view through the reverse side to the automatic movement. The dual time function is indicated via the red hand, which is controlled by a screw-in crown adorned with ‘M’. The Venturer Tourbillon Dual Time is paired with a handsome, hand-stitched brown or black alligator strap and matching gold clasp, engraved with theMoser logo. H. Moser &Cie is a brand to watch, for those who value elegant, modern design paired with traditional innovative watchmaking.
