Meet the Chef: Giulio Brignola With more than two decades of academic and professional experience in the hospitality industry, Italian-born Chef Giulio Brignola was lured into the culinary world when his passion for the industry and for food was recognised at an early age. Brignola spent his formative years training in Italy with renowned chef Lucio Cappanari, the youngest Cordon Bleu chef in Europe, who helped shape Giulio’s style and depth of knowledge. After moving to Munich, Brignola was appointed as a chef at Aquarelloa, a Michelin star restaurant owned by author and chef- restaurateur Mario Gamba. Brignola then moved on to work as the assistant to Frederico Coria, ex-captain of the National Italian Chefs, at the Institute of Culinary Arts in Venice. Brignola continued to extend his international reach in the world of culinary arts by working for Westin in China and Hilton in London and Glasgow. Brignola has secured numerous culinary accolades in his field and contributed toMario Gamba’s cookbook ‘Pasta’. He currently holds the position as Executive Chef at Al Tayer Group. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, 7 days a week, and has a seating capacity of 95 inside and 88 outside.
