8 6 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I Sayad’s extensive lounge-style seating area is located on the outdoor dining terrace of Emirates Palace, providing an easy and relaxed dining environment for both weekdays and weekends, with its sparkling views of the marina’s tranquil blue waters and the white sandy beach. It’s the perfect place to soak up some atmosphere whilst dining on the finest offerings of the sea, whether it’s a perfect sunny day or a starlit night. And if a more intimate dining experience is what you’re after, two private dining areas can accommodate up to ten people each and are available with advanced reservations. A typical meal – as if you could call anything at Sayad ‘typical’ – might include a starter of lobster with rhubarb, potatoes and vanilla essence, or the king crab salad with harissa aioli and black garlic emulsion. Moving on to mains, you might try the Caspian sturgeon, or the monkfish in a smoked tomato consommé with ratatouille gratinée, with sides of wilted spinach or flavoursome poached vegetables. Can’t decide? Opt for the one of the tempting set menus, and enjoy a fantastic array of the restaurant’s best selections that the chefs have specifically chosen to be enjoyed together. Every Friday evening, Sayad host a Fisherman’s Evening, when guests can choose from a large variety of fresh fish and shellfish displayed on a bed of ice, personally selected at the local fish market in Abu Dhabi that morning by the talented team of Sayad chefs. Diners then select their preferred method of cooking, whether grilled, steamed or fried, and let the chefs do the rest, whilst they enjoy their starters – and of course, after the meal, desserts to complement the rich flavours of the sea. Is someone in your party not quite as enamoured of seafood? Never fear. In the true spirit of hospitality, Sayad also offers delicious fare for those landlubbers. Oftentimes in a seafood restaurant, the meat dishes feel like an afterthought – not so at Sayad. The chefs prepare gorgeous dishes in their signature with-a-twist style – think perfectly seasonedWagyu beef steak with rich truffle mashed potatoes, succulent lamb with couscous and spiced okra, or a simply outstanding crispy duck breast with lentil du puy and foie gras. Like the menu, the service is equally accommodating, and ensures every guest feels attended to, appreciated, and thoroughly satisfied at the end of the meal.
