1 1 1 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I Snoopy Award Limited Edition, 2003 In 2003, OMEGA released a limited edition Speedmaster Professional to commemorate the brand’s receipt of the coveted Silver Snoopy Award from NASA in 1970, in recognition of the contributions OMEGA made to the Apollo space programme. Though not wildly distinctive from other special editions, the Snoopy Award model presents a Silver Snoopy, based upon the beloved dog from the Peanuts cartoon, award graphic on the face of the timepiece. Only 5441 examples were produced. Commemorative Apollo 11Gold Speedmaster, 1970 On 25November 1969 at Hotel Warwick inHouston, Texas, OMEGA presented numbered examples – with the receiver’s name inscribed on the timepiece – to each of the 28 then-active astronauts. OMEGA commemorated arguably the most monumental achievement in modern times by also engraving, “To mark man’s conquest of space with time, through time, on time” on the back of each watch. Though originally conceived as a small-run example, due to its popularity, a total of 1,014 of these watches were produced up until 1972. s s
