1 4 4 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I Indian and Atlantic T he oceans that meet off the coast of Africa are home to mysterious fauna and depths that seem to invite those who cross them on a journey that promises magic and wonder, part way between dream and reality. Van Cleef & Arpels took inspiration from this unique meeting place of great seas for its Indian and Atlantic collection. The Pangée necklace and earrings are formed from wondrous white gold and round and pear-shaped diamonds - simplistic at first but with an underlying sense of true wonder. The necklace and earrings revisit the volute theme of rolling waves, whilst sparkling curves represent light on moving water, the pear- shaped diamonds like drops of foam. Both pieces are set with stones according to the most stringent criteria. Van Cleef & Arpels has been the official supplier to the Principality of Monaco since 1956. Recently, the Parisian creator of haute joaillerie and Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco have not shied away from showcasing this longstanding alliance.
