It is a wonderful blend of wool felt, knits, angora, mohair and cashmere, all sculpted, volumetric silhouettes with plays of folding, asymmetries and layering. Last season the brand strayed into new territory with its experimentation with a more masculine, boxy look, a heavy military influence. Many felt it was not true to the Beckham name, and she was quick to take this on board. This season is very much a ‘back-to-basics’ approach to design. "We started with dresses; we listened to what people said,” she said of her decision to use the simple, signature Victoria Beckham dress as the base for the entire collection. This is symptomatic of the designer’s talent and deftness – fashion changes, and the only way to keep up is to truly listen to your customers whims and wishes. At its core, this collection is dedicated to simply being wearable, a new, empathetic approach to fashion that hopes comfort is a key decider in what women wear.
