Simply Abu Dhabi Magazine XIX
S IMPLY BEAUT I FUL B y S o p h i e M c M u l l a n C omfort, prestige and reliability – all very important elements when it comes to various subjects within the pagesa of Simply AbuDhabi. And it applies to beauty, too. In the following pages, you’ll seeme cover a trio of luxury cosmetic brands, all of which are experts in their own right and yet remain completely different from each other. It’s precisely this diversity within the beauty world which I admire, and there’s always room for more. As technologies evolve, so do the products available to us. Famed French fragrance house, Guerlain, has come a long way since its arrival on the scene, creating unique and exclusive perfumes for dignitaries and consumers alike. I have covered their perfumes in these pages before, but this time I’m writing more about their heritage as well as what’s on offer on the colour side of things. Perhaps most famous for their bronzer, there’s so much more on offer. I went to visit one of their counters recently and was given a tour of their products – I had no idea howdiverse and extensive the range is. In this article I’ll show you their newest collections and what you can look forward to trying from this legendary brand. A slightly different reputation, but a well-respected one nonetheless, is the always reliable Clinique. Most of us have grown up with this brand and continue to view it with a familiarity which is reassuringly professional. Their range continues to grow, of course, but Clinique are still famed for a generous handful of products that ladies (and gents) swear by. Hypoallergenic and fragrance free are a couple of the traits that prove they are responsible with their developments whilst always listening to their customer. Talking of which, their customer service is impeccable, too – if you haven’t already, take a seat at one of their counters for an expert to assess your skin and recommend their famed 3-Step regime to suit your needs. Colour is always playful with Clinique, too, and the packaging modern and tactile. Florrie White, their latest ambassador, was kind enough to answer some questions for me as I delved into her role and aspirations with the company – not tomention some backstage gossip, professional tips andwhat’s coming soon for Clinique. To round things off, I've also been taking a look at a British Skincare brand with its finger on the pulse of mindfulness. Neom Organics is all about looking after the inner as well as the outer beauty. Nicola Elliott, their founder, has passed on some words of calm and wisdom for you to read in the following pages. Although she’s been well placed in the industry for many years, Nicola has realised early on that one can’t achieve beauty and radiance purely from a pot of cream. It’s all about looking after yourself, taking the time and having the patience, as well as nurturing with the correct ingredients. It’s relaxing just to hear what she has to say. Her brand is definitely one I would recommend you take a closer look at, if indeed you can spare the time within your busy schedules...! On that note, I’ll leave youwith thoughts of peacefulness and beauty, however you choose to achieve it. We can all get stuck in our ways, but how about taking time for yourself and trying a little pampering? I’m sure you won’t regret it. As ever, I welcome your feedback and responses so please get in touch with me via my Twitter and Instagram on @beautisserie and I will be happy to respond. Indeed, if there are any elements of beauty you’d like me to research, tell me and I’ll look into it!
