7 0 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I Simply FelipeMassa By Damien Reid S martly dressed as always, the diminutive Felipe Massa strolled into Hackett of London’s new store at Aldar’s Yas Mall on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, with a casual confidence, despite being only a day away from stepping into his Williams Formula One car to compete in the final race of the 2015 Formula One season. In almost every sense, he is the opposite of current F1 pin-up boy, Lewis Hamilton, who carries all the fanfare of a prize fighter stepping into the ring wherever he goes, complete with gold chains and an entourage that often includes his two beloved English boxer dogs. Massa, on the other hand, having survived the cut-throat business of Formula One longer than just about anyone currently on the grid, knows that the inner circle, affectionately known as “the Piranha Club,” can spit you out as quickly as it welcomes you in. Massa has visited Abu Dhabi many times and is a fan of the Middle East, especially as a destination to wrap up the Formula One world championship. “AbuDhabi is a great place to finish the season.
