G iampiero Bodino is a true renaissance man, and also a genuine dark horse. He is a man of extraordinary talents who, until recently, elected to remain out of the spotlight. For the last 14 years Bodino has held the demanding and venerated position of group art director of the Richemont Group, having a pivotal role in the design and creation of watches and jewellery by Maisons in the group including Van Cleef & Arpels, Piaget, Jaeger- LeCoultre and Cartier. In short, Bodino is in no small part responsible for some of the most important examples of haute horlogerie and haute joaillerie of our times. He is also a talented painter, a graduate of the Institute of Applied Arts and Design of Turin where he specialised in art styling, industrial design and architecture. Bodino has turned his hands to designing boutiques, handbags and cars, and he has partnered with fashion houses including Bulgari, Gucci, Versace and Swarovski to name just a handful of esteemed collaborators. Now Bodino has emerged from behind the scenes with his own eponymous jewellery brand. Maison Giampiero Bodino was founded in late 2013 and is a unique new proposition in the world of haute joaillerie. The first collection was unveiled in December 2014 at the invitation-only Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris to widespread acclaim. The company’s mission is to make unique, one of-a-kind creations and to do this Bodino works directly with clients, with discretion and complete confidence assured, to create bespoke commissions that celebrate Italian art and culture and the particular desires and vision of the customer. Giampiero Bodino’s central aim is to create extreme individuality, born from a direct relationship between the artist and the person who asks GiampieroBodino
