TheMaison says, “Together, the subject is chosen; together, stones and metals are selected; together, new aesthetic and emotional paths are opened, leading to a new way of creating and sharing culture and talking not only of jewellery, but of feelings, too.” Meetings take place by appointment only in Bodino’s one sole address. There are no foreign outposts in cities around the world – just the Villa Mozart in Milan. This is Bodino’s stunning 1930s Art Deco home, designed by architect Piero Portaluppi, which Bodino restored and decorated. It’s an eye-wideningly opulent residence, with floral-frescoed ceilings floating over marble columns, mosaic floors, ornate woodwork and sculptures by Eugenio Baroni and AntonioMaraini. The walls display some of Bodino’s own paintings. Bodino draws inspiration from all over Italy and its rich heritage spanning the centuries. He says, “All my love for my country of origin comes up and you can feel it in my pieces. It’s my way to say thank you to a country that has the highest concentration of masterpieces in the world in the entire history of art.” This year Bodino is adding to this vast wealth of artistic creation with a new collection of rings. Rings hold incredibly important cultural significance all over the world, arguably much more so than necklaces and earrings, bracelets and other jewellery creations. It is with a ring that we get engaged andmarried, the most important bond we can make in our lifetime. Bodino creates various jewellery pieces but he enjoys creating rings most of all. He explains, “A ring is the only jewel you can look at without a mirror. I love rings because people usually buy them for themselves and become part of them.” The new line of rings display a vibrant and exuberant style in fantastically conceived sculptural constructions. Unmistakably Italian, floral corollas and Renaissance- inspired forms create a floating effect for the stones, allowing the vital play of light upon these stunning works of art.
