2 1 0 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I Sunset purple, lilac, sand, black, grey, dark brown, hot pink, white and the navy of the night present the collection’s desert colour palette, filled with regular bursts of warm colour. Long shirts and long fine ribbed knits create a layered look throughout, while fine long-sleeve t-shirts are an underlayer to cover skin and keep out the sun’s rays. Loose-fitting trousers are teamed with simple leather jackets and hooded bombers in plum leather or caramel with a subtle argyle pattern picked across them. Zip-up blousons are essential: in perforated leather, printed nylon, hooded in Greek key tie silk or tracksuits with the Medusa at the chest. Seams are left open and slashes appear in blousons, shirts and long length knits, letting in air. Knits, which rarely take a starring role on the Versace runway, were a treat, with one dip-dyed number glowing with colours as bright as a desert rose – purple, pink and blue. Other elongated knits came with slashes at the elbow or the shoulders, teasing with small windows onto the body. Tonal matches and all-over hand- drawn prints are the other outstanding feature of this collection, taking inspiration from Versace Home, such as a grid repeat print of Versace cushions, or a print of classic Versace chairs. Oversize pockets give the feel of desert utility to long spring coats, washed silk tailoring, city shorts and tailored pants. Versace layered long and fluttery printed shirts
