The second step in this brief was to ensure there were numerous places for guests and family to relax and unwind aboard the craft. Øino’s directive was to ensure above all else that each deck and space had a distinctive function, and to create supporting furniture with built-in elements, such as the craft’s bars, dining areas, pool and two hot tubs. With the swathes of space available, Øino found he was able to incorporate every request in the brief, as well as an exterior cinema and nightclub, complete with its own dedicated DJ station installed on the top deck, there is one guest gym and also a crew gym. Beyond this, Øino also found space for the elegant and sheltered main deck reception area aft and the private outdoor seating area forward of the owner’s suite. With the extra length, there’s room for all of the guests on the main deck as well as a fully insulated theatre on the lower deck, a substantial tender garage, a full diving centre and a sauna. As it was the second time she worked on a residential project with the family, having worked on their previous yacht, interior designer Aileen Rodriguez says she was comfortable suggesting ways the inside of the craft could be made as incredible as the exterior. She said, “I told them, you have this strong, bold boat on the outside, you can’t go all Monet pastels on the inside. That’s when their love of colour and texture came out.” Boundaries were pushed in the interior in its scope, finishes and details. To achieve an open-plan living area, the spacious aft main deck opens on to a multifunction saloon of more than 170 square metres unbroken by supports. While the owner didn’t want to see walls when he stepped aboard, he did want a very elegant saloon with memorable elements.
