7 9 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I The indices and minute markers of the bezel’s diving scale are executed using Omega’s Ceragold technology – involving a process that enables the incrustation of 18-carat gold into zirconium-based ceramic bezels, with an inordinately smooth blendedmaterial as the final result. The Sedna Gold has also been used for the case, hands and indexes, as well as on the strap’s clasp. Now a master chronometer, this is one of the first ladies’ timepieces from Omega to gain the brand’s vaunted METAS-approved rating. To earn the name Master Chronometer, the finished watch, whose movement is a COSC chronometer, passes tests approved by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) that replicate real-life wearing conditions and demonstrate resistance to water and magnetic fields. The complex movement, the new calibre 8801, can be closely studied and admired via the sapphire crystal caseback, which has yet another addition of Sedna Gold in the oscillating weight. All things considered this is an understated watch but with some dynamic differences. How far Omega wish to promote this as a women’s-only watch remains to be seen… but it would not look the slightest bit out of place on a modestly-sized man wearing either evening or casual attire. But maybe ladies won’t want to share this model too much – they might want all the chocolate for themselves.
