First the company announced the acquisition of an incredible De Beers 109 carat rough type II A diamond that, at De Beers Parisian HQ in Rue de la Paix, has been displayed in all its majesty. Second, the prestigious brand presented several beautiful solitaire rings. One ring in white gold features 7.66 carats of a fancy green diamond and is embellished with small brilliant cut diamonds. Another solitaire ring shines with a 4.27 fancy grey master diamond, both of these beauties part of the 1888 Master Diamond collection. The Maison also showcased cut diamonds, ready to be mounted as bespoke creations. A fine example is the radiant yellow fancy vivid diamond that weighs in at more than 50 carats and also forms a part of the 1888 Master Diamond collection. The incredibly graphic cut and its intense yellow colour enchant and contribute to the outstanding beauty of this piece. This diamond is classified as fancy yellow, a particularly rare tint that is difficult to find, particularly in a diamond of this size and with such high clarity. De Beers also presented some precious and rough beauties. Enveloped in paper as though they were chocolate pralines, there were small green, yellow, orange, grey, white and brown diamonds of so many different colours, shapes and forms, rough and pure in their beauty, that it was impossible to look away from them. “This is the way we show them to our customers. It's how diamonds actually look in nature”, explained De Beers’ PRManager Jennie Farmer. These are destined to be highly sought after pieces, so failing the chance of seeing them in nature, a De Beers retailer is the next best option.
