The collection is an homage to gold, precious gemstones, pearls, spinels, moonstones, Padparadscha sapphires and of course diamonds. Each of the 11 new jewellery sets takes the names of elegant women who had accompanied, marked or influenced the life of Gabrielle Chanel before 1920. It's a collection that tells the story of a young Coco at the beginning of her career in fashion, when armed with her beliefs, ideas and style was ready to take the world by storm. A perfect example is the refined and timeless Suzanne necklace that features 139 grey Tahitian pearls that contrast with eight soft oval-cut pink sapphires, or the Marthe earrings with a cascade of Japanese cultured pearls hanging from grey spinels and diamond ribbons. The Jeanne necklace in white gold with 11 fancy-cut pink sapphires totalling 10.32 carats, 11 fancy cut diamonds, 94 round-cut pink sapphires, 82 round- cut grey spinels and 633 brilliant cut diamonds is simply spectacular.
