I t would be impossible to talk about the DSquared catwalk show without talking about the shoes: all Ziggy Stardust inspired six inches of them. Realistically, we can expect to see very few men sporting the 1970s-inspired glitter embellished platform boots worn with such aplomb by the DSquared models in the real world, but the vibrant spirit that they gave to the collection translates beautifully into some of the more wearable and commercial pieces that really made this collection stand out and shine. This was a collection about rebellion and owning who you are, and nothing represented that better than those incredible shoes. The origins of this season’s DSquared collection were rooted in the youth tribes of Great Britain’s recent past. We saw punks walk alongside mods and bikers alongside skinheads. In real terms this means we saw models with shaved heads stand effortlessly alongside those 1 4 4 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I
