6 4 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I Qasr Al Sarab – the Mirage Palace – was inspired by desert fortresses from the area. The traditional Arabic design concept of the resort was created by architects from Northpoint, and it delivers a truly authentic experience that is harmonious with the surrounding region. We had a choice of beautiful rooms, suites and villas to stay at, all steeped in the region’s distinctive custom and boasting locally hand-crafted furnishings. Rich carpets and embroidered fabrics evoke ambient warmth and an inescapable sense of romance. The villa we chose was designed like an old sand hut, with rich textures and earthy colour palettes signifying the rustic Arabian charm, combined with minimalist modern luxuries: high-definition TV, WiFi, an oversize bathtub and rain shower. The spacious living and dining areas, private pool and outdoor terrace meant we could all relax in true luxury. Surrounded by hints of Bedouin tradition and exquisite reminders of timeless culture, we immediately felt a world away from the fast pace of city life. The resort provided us with fantastic adventures and experiences to pass the time when we were not simply resting and meditating in the quiet bubble of solitude of our villa.
