The programme aims is to reintroduce and release the Arabian oryx, an antelope species which is indigenous to the Arabian peninsula, into their natural environment. In the development of Qasr Al Sarab, the TDIC undertook measures to protect existing archaeological or cultural heritage features, and also provided showcasing facilities dedicated to the preservation and public display of local and regional cultural heritage.
