Simply Abu Dhabi XXVI

9 4 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort Abu Dhabi delivers innovative cuisine across its food and beverage portfolio, as well as banquet and in-room dining, providing guests with a refined gastronomic experience in a bespoke, beachside setting. The resort’s signature restaurant, 55&5th, The Grill – a classic grill and lounge inspired by the address of the original St. Regis New York – has entered the big band era with the arrival of its South African resident band, featuring Gerant Boje on bass and Andre Behnke on piano performing both classic and original swing and jazz tunes. The enticing seasonal menu created by chef Manuel Olivera is inspired by modern European cuisine and created using locally sourced farm-fresh ingredients. Packed with flavours and plated in a simple yet refined presentation, every dish is as exciting as the next. “We’ve created a new and exciting dining concept for 55&5th, The Grill, our flagship restaurant, in which the entertainment is as important as the culinary offerings,” says Fadel. “With our recently appointed resident band and Chef de Cuisine Manuel Olivera we look forward to creating an engaging dining experience for our guests and set a new standard for fine dining in the UAE’s capital.” Enhancing the culinary discovery, the resort’s Head Sommelier Steve Fernandes complements the menu with extensive grape-infused offerings and pairing concepts. Other dining hotspots within the resort include: Oléa, a Mediterranean influenced all-day-dining venue offering al fresco options; Sontaya, a culinary mosaic of southeast Asia with floating, glass-walled pavilions set amidst interconnected ponds and pools and serving authentic southeast Asian delicacies; and the Drawing Room, which celebrates the signature St. Regis tea ritual in a relaxing lobby lounge with creative, refreshing beverages and light snacks.
