Cocktail dresses, suits and gowns recall the beauty of the Snow Queen with a modern panache. Lightweight embroidery mixed with fur or Swarovski crystals is key in this collection, based on a game of duality. The good Gerda fights against the evil SnowQueen, and together they tell the haute couture story of this collection. The show was rather cinematic and it steadily built up with outfits that declared a winter fairytale love for the woman who wants to be as good as Gerda but at the same time be as seductive and audacious as the Snow Queen. The collection’s black, white and silver colour palette was very simple, while the silhouette was accentuated and timeless. Fur was also very important. “Nature has always been an inspiration to me. This collection conveys all the beauty of Russian winters… The autumn/winter season has always been one I cherish very much. In fairytales, good always triumphs over evil, women are feminine, and men are courageous. The most important thing is that beauty triumphs,” concludes Yanina.
