CHOPARD Chopard Co-President Caroline Scheufele has joined forces with Chinese fashion designer Guo Pei to create a unique high jewellery collection which was presented during Guo Pei’s show at Haute Couture week in Paris and at Chopard’s haute joallerie salon at the brand’s HQ in Paris. Scheufele has based her high jewellery collection on a dreamy vision of Asia, with Pei developing this creative adventure by putting her own magic touch onto the collection. The resulting Silk Road Collection is an encounter between European craftsmanship and Chinese inspiration. The pieces are the epitome of opulence, and it’s stunning to see Guo Pei's haute couture dresses matched perfectly with Chopard’s incredible gems and vice-versa. Diamonds, emeralds, pariba tourmalines, jade, opals and pearls are key in the Silk Road Collection, and together they encapsulate majestically the art and craftsmanship of the goldsmith for which Chopard is known. The colours and clarity of the gems used to embellish the necklaces and the delicacy of the heart-shaped diamonds distinguish this collection. The gems are mounted on a mixture of aluminium and rose or white gold in a groundbreaking touch that gives these incredible pieces great levity. A perfect example is a necklace resembling exquisite lacework as seen in Guo Pei’s gowns.
