Totally striking in their open dialled architecture, they are bold and extreme statements, framed as always by the famous octagonal bezel. The Royal Oak screw heads contrast perfectly with the new dial, which cuts away excess material to leave a lattice of eight skeletonised bridges. This is a fine example of contemporary and utterly confident aesthetics from Audemars Piguet, and it’s particularly fitting for the Offshore collection. As the brand’s tagline says, “To break the rules you must first master them”. A quarter century after it was first launched, the Royal Oak Offshore still exudes new creative dimensions.
