Simply Abu Dhabi XXVIII

STEFANO RICCI Stefano Ricci debuted in the fashion world 45 years ago with his eponymous label. To celebrate this anniversary the Florentine designer decided to stage an unprecedented men’s high fashion show at one of the most symbolic Italian fashion venues: the Sala Bianca at Palazzo Pitti. It was in this immense ballroom that acclaimed designers received their international induction into the fashion world back in the 1960s. Ricci staged his autumn/winter 2017/2018 men’s fashion show among the 18th century stucco decorations, which the Grand Duke Peter Leopold Habsburg-Lorraine commissioned from Lugano Grato and Giocondo Albertolli in 1775, illuminated by 11 bohemian chandeliers. The core values of this collection are the perfect fit and tailoring that matches the needs of the modern and cosmopolitanman; a man who stands out for his impeccable style. Ricci’s suits, in two or three pieces with the waistcoat, and soft, comfortable leisurewear made for the man who embodies the epitome of luxury, are utterly desirable. Embellished with precious skins such as alligator, or with sheared mink or precious silk from the Antico Setificio Fiorentino, Ricci’s collection expresses the dynamic and sartorial life of his concept of the modern man. A classic look enriched with luxury jeans, cool and comfortable sneakers or overcoats in lightweight fabrics or soft and warm knitwear, are the key pieces for Ricci’s autumn/winter collection. In terms of colours, brown, beige, grey, black and blue are the protagonists. For evening wear, the tuxedo, in all its tailoring and beauty, conquers for its boundless elegance, especially with generous flashes of satin.
