Adept at turnkey projects, as well as courtyard designs, new builds and commercial renovations, she has a mounting number of awards and accolades to her name, and specialises in transforming small spaces. But whether large or small, the first step to any new project is, she says, getting to know the client. “Designing is knowing how to interpret someone’s brief, and creating a one-off piece that is completely about them,” says Sarah. “To exceed all expectations, you have to really know your client. If it’s a domestic project, you need to understand their behaviour, tastes, dress sense and overall style, their lifestyle and general day- to-day. For commercial briefs, such as restaurants and bars, it’s knowing who their desired clientele is, and what sort of ambience they’re after.”
