8 2 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I T his year Gaia Repossi celebrated her 10th anniversary as artistic and creative director of Repossi, the prestigious jewellery house founded in Turin in 1920. After years of hard work trying to revolutionise the idea of contemporary jewellery, Repossi is now well worthy of being considered one of the best jewellers in the world. In 2016, the brand opened a boutique at 6 Place Vendôme in Paris, the most prestigious location in the world for a jeweller. Also this year, to mark this important achievement, Repossi presented the Two Works high jewellery collection which splits between high and statement jewellery design. The collection was presented at the Musée Picasso in Paris under a setting curated by Diego Giacometti, whose aim was to enhance the duality between jewellery and art, between Repossi and Picasso, both as progressives. Two Works by Repossi comprises two distinct themes: Studio and Luminant. With Studio, Repossi recalls the abstract shapes of Fauvism and Cubism; with Luminant, on the other hand, she plays with the idea of Cubist mosaics.
