Gucci Timepieces has a clear design approach and positioning, and they have been designing, developing and manufacturing iconic Gucci watches since the early 1970s. Always playful, contemporary and—most importantly—unafraid to take risks and try something new, Gucci has gone three- dimensional in 2018 with a hologram effect on the popular G-Timeless collection. The funky twist to the G-Timeless watch line has a new 38mm quartz variant and both the dial and strap showcase the iconic GG logo as a floating hologram. This sense of devil may care, daring desire to play with a mix of materials to create something different and attention grabbing is testament to what makes Gucci such a celebrated and much-loved brand worldwide. The unisex plastic strap is designed to fit all wrist sizes and it’s finished with a stainless steel ardillon buckle. The caseback features an engraving of the Ouroboros motif, which is the usual symbol for the House jewellery collection. Whilst this is obviously a fun timepiece, the watch still has quality standards and features sapphire crystal with antireflective coating inside and is water resistant to 50 metres. The monochrome combination of black and white tones means this will be a striking addition to any ultra-fashionable ensemble. Whilst rigorously made in Switzerland, and distributed worldwide through the exclusive network of directly operated Gucci boutiques and selected watch distributors, this is not a horological masterpiece—it’s clearly not supposed to be—but the holographic dial and strap is unlike anything you've seen before in the watch world and this family of watches is sure to find an adoring audience.
