Marking the brand’s 185th anniversary, the Reverso Tribute Tourbillon duoface joins a long and distinguished line of Jaeger-LeCoultre timepieces that demonstrate the ultimate in mechanical expertise and exquisite aesthetics. Since its creation in 1931, the Reverso has been an undisputed icon for watch enthusiasts and collectors and any new Reverso is always hotly anticipated. It’s rectangular shape and reversible function was originally designed for polo players to protect their watch during matches—one face would be metal to protect against damage, and the other would have the dial. Now the sophisticated watch lover has the luxury of two elegant dials to choose from – one side is classic and restrained, the other more ornate, and the duoface functionality allows the single movement to show a different time zone on each face. This new Reverso Tribute Tourbillon duoface features a flying tourbillon and the duoface concept in one single model for the first time, and in doing so Jaeger- LeCoultre offers collectors a stunning embodiment of the art of watchmaking. A timepiece like no other, celebrating a new fusion between technical mastery and aesthetic beauty. The style codes are distinctly Art deco, which pays homage to the original models from the 30s. The blue sunrayed dial of the front side features silvered, hand-applied hour markers and dauphine hands that bow to the hypnotic flying tourbillon that executes its floating ballet at six o’clock. On the opposite side, the grained dial and Côtes de Genève finishes make the perfect housing for emblematic functions like the second time zone, small seconds, and the day/night indicator discreetly nestled at 2 o’clock. The swivel action is so smooth, you have to resist the temptation to keep changing it obsessively. In the brand’s own words, ‘This trademark mechanism has often been imitated but never quite equalled. It continues to be a source of inspiration for watchmakers, artists and artisans of the Grande Maison, as well as a source of delight for lovers of rare and precious objects in which the level of sophistication is paralleled only by mechanical excellence and aesthetic achievement. With a stunning degree of complexity and design, recognisable at first glance, the new Reverso Tribute Tourbillon duoface is no exception to the rule.’ Both sides bear the same flying tourbillon. At the heart of the watch is the new JLC manually wound calibre 847. The case is a lustrous solid platinum to finish off the luxurious spoils. Limited to just 50 pieces, the Reverso Tribute Tourbillon duoface carries a list price of $123,000. JAEGER-LECOULTRE R E v E R S O T R I B U T E T O U R B I L L O N d U O F A C E
