5 3 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I Animations are where all childhood memories come to life, and Warner Bros.’ most iconic characters and animated worlds can be discovered at Cartoon Junction, while Gotham City is home to its favourite billionaire Batman, who has vowed to crush the sinister criminal underworld that lurks deep beneath this legendary urban landscape. The Caped Crusader has taken matters into his own hands after the unfortunate death of his parents many years ago. Today, he devotes his entire family inheritance to stopping all of Gotham City’s bad guys. dynamite Gulch is an animated storyland where guests will encounter the famed duo Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, while the age-old land of Bedrock powered by birds and dinosaurs is home to everyone’s modern stone-age family, the Flintstones. Imaginative inspiration While many of the rides are suitable for younger children, such as the Flintstones log flume and a Scooby-doo haunted house, adrenaline junkies are not left in the dark. A surprisingly grown- up ride in the heart of the dynamite Gulch (the cartoon-themed youngsters’ section of the park) is Fast and Furry-ous, which sees riders take on the role of Wile E. Coyote as he chases Road Runner through the Southwest American desert on his ACME rocket. Riders are strapped into a car hanging under the track with their legs hanging free below, and are fired round a series of loops, banks, turns and drops with the desert’s rocks and Road Runner- themed furniture often seeming too close for comfort. Meanwhile, the Joker Fun House located in GothamCity provides classic fairground appeal, with visitors entering via a traditional mirror maze, and accompanied by a soundtrack of The Joker himself taunting his lost victims. A trail of physical and mental challenges awaits, from optical illusions to moving ladders and physical obstacles until visitors eventually escape via a tube slide. And the Batman: Knight Flight rollercoaster gives fans of Gotham City the ultimate experience of flying in a Batwing vehicle. It takes passengers on a simulated journey high above Gotham City using robotic arm technology, in vehicles that swoop and dive through both scenic sets and in tandemwith media projected onto screens.
